- Who we are
About the CTC
The Come Together Community (CTC) is a Zhuhai-based, grassroots charity founded in 2011 with a mission to create lasting, meaningful change in the lives of underprivileged and special-needs children. Built on the principles of community, transparency, and compassion, CTC is fully volunteer-led, with zero administrative costs — ensuring that 100% of donations directly benefit the children we support.
CTC was born out of a moment of tragedy and love. After the unexpected passing of a dear friend left his pregnant widow without income, our founders came together to support her and her future child. That act of unity grew into something much bigger — a shared vision for a sustainable, transparent, and locally grounded charity that brings people together to help those most in need.
Since then, CTC has raised over RMB 3 million (USD 455,000) through its flagship annual event, the Come Together Music Festival — now recognized as South China’s premier charity music event. The funds raised support children in need across two primary areas:
-
Underprivileged children — including orphans, children with chronic illnesses, and those living in poverty with minimal family support.
-
Children with developmental conditions — such as autism, through programs that teach life skills, improve confidence, and foster inclusion.
We work closely with trusted local charity partners, ensuring every funded program is thoroughly vetted, monitored, and audited. Our support has funded programs ranging from therapy, skating, and robotics classes to the creation and operation of the Zhuhai Autism Society Day Care Centre — a vital after-school center that was so impactful it was taken over by the local government in 2019.
CTC is proud to have received the 2019 UN Social Impact Award, recognizing our contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11), Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (Goal 16), and Partnership for the Goals (Goal 17). Our Chairman, Mark Clayton, was also honored with the 2019 Peace Award by the Sino-Phil Asia Peace Foundation and named a Laureate in the Field of Philanthropy for his work with the CTC.
CTC is more than a charity — it is a movement. A testament to the power of a community that believes in dignity, opportunity, and a better future for every child.
Message from the Chairman
Mark Clayton – Co-Founder & Chairman, Come Together Community (CTC)
When we founded CTC in 2011, it was a very personal journey. A close friend had just passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a pregnant wife with no financial means. We came together — as friends, as a community — to help. What started as an act of solidarity became a mission. I realized that we could do more. Much more.
I’ve always believed that children are the soul of any society — their innocence, their potential, their vulnerability. They remind us of what really matters. Every child deserves a fair start in life, regardless of the circumstances they’re born into. They deserve love, support, and the opportunity to grow, thrive, and find their place in the world. And when society falls short of that promise, it’s up to people like us to step in.
CTC was built to be different. No bureaucracy, no waste, no red tape — just people helping people, directly and transparently. We’ve been lucky to have the support of an amazing community that has come together year after year, with open hearts and generous hands, to lift up those who need us most.
My purpose — both personally and professionally — has always been rooted in social impact and shared humanity. I believe that true leadership is about service, and that the best measure of success is the lives we touch along the way. Through CTC, we’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of children build better futures. And yet, our work is far from done.
If you're reading this, thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing in the power of community. And thank you for standing with us as we continue this journey — one child, one program, one act of kindness at a time.
With gratitude,
Mark Clayton
